These products are used for streamers who love watching their content from the phone to their TV.  To decide which product to choose will be completely up to which one of them suits your lifestyle the best.

I personally enjoy Apple products. It's easy for me to use and navigate. I have an iPhone, an Apple computer, and an iPad so it made a lot of sense for me to buy the it and add it to my collection 🙂 Even though I might like using the Apple TV, unfortunately not everyone does.

In this article I will compare Apple TV alliterative products that also have high reviews and ratings.

Apple TV

Apple TV is a palm-sized black box that connects to your TV using the HDMI cable. It is one of the leading streaming devices in the market and you can call it Apple's masterpiece. I love Apple TV because it's fast, lots of Apps, airplay is insanely fast and I love the look of it.

The first Apple TV was called "iTV" and was produced in 2007. It was sold as a 40GB hard disk and later released 160 GB within the same year.  However, not long after the release of the 160GB, Apple announced an upgrade of the products name from "iTV" to Apple TV - as we know it today.

When Apple combined the Apple TV with iPhone through Wi-Fi. Over the years they perfected the product to what it is today. Below is a list of Pros and Con's of Apple TV.

My Opinion!

When I have friends coming over, it's so easy for me to stream my phone to the TV. All I have to do is turn everything on and within seconds there goes YouTube. The best way to answer the question of "Should I buy Apple TV?!" is by answering, do you use Apple products?! If yes, I suggest buying it.

Google Chromecast!

I've heard a lot of great things about Google Chromecast. It's cheap, simple way to stream your content right to your TV.  You get an easy access to streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Google Play.

Let's explore Google Chromecast a little more.

My Opinion!

I actually like Google Chromecast since my family has one and they use it all the time. Google Chromecast is great for when you subscribe to services that only allow the access on your PC and you want to curl up in your living room and watch the content on TV - Google Chromecast is amazing with that. Easy set up  and great price. You can't beat that.

I have mention earlier, to pick the right product for yourself is by knowing what you use and not use. So let's explore a little more about Google Chromecast before you make your final decision.

Google Chromecast
  • 51.9 x 51.9 x 13.49
  • Micro-USB plug in
  • 3.5mm jack with analog digital audio output
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 ac
  • 5V, 1A power supply.
  • Compatible with Android, iOS 7.0 +, Windows 7, Mac OS X
  • $35

If you like watching TV the old-fashion way, Chromecast won't benefit you in anyway. Also, if you don't subscribe to any streaming channels, it may not be the best product for you to use.

Setting Up!

Setting up is super easy. Plug the Chromecast to your TV, have your smartphone or your computer near by and follow the instructions. Google Chromecast should recognize your Wi-Fi and walk through the process.

You really don't need to be computer savvy to figure it out. Nowadays, the electronic devices that we purchase are smarter than we think. They are capable of doing half of the setting up process by themselves and with less headaches.

End Note

Whether you pick Apple TV, Amazon Fire Tv, or Google Chromecast - they all have one thing in common, streaming. It all depends on what kind of product you want to use since they offer different content. For example, if you always watch Amazon Prime, i would suggest to use Amazon Fire TV and so on. This decision is all up to you, I'm just here to make things a little clear so that you are happy with your decision. Happy Shopping!
