Do you suffer from brittle, breaking or splitting nails? Well I have a solution for you. There could be a few factors why you are experiencing these things. It could be from not having a balanced diet, vitamin deficiency or it could simply be too many manis. Address your nail problems by attacking it's source.
Dry nails and chipped polish can be frustrating to deal with on a daily basis. Not including the slow growing nail process can can really push you to the edge. So how can we stop it?!
These few tips should help you cure your nails and make them look as beautiful as they should.
Problem 1- Balanced Diet
It is very important that you get your daily nutrition such as veggies, fruits, protein and healthy fats. Also eat foods that contain sulfur such as broccoli onions and garlic. It helps you repair your nails but also add shine to them. Don't forget about the salmon, almonds, cheese, peanuts, and eggs for the balanced diet.
Use the food pyramid to remind you which food is important to consume and which ones you should stay away from. Also don't forget to hydrate to decrease the drying of the cuticles.
Problem 2-Vitamin deficiency
Iron deficiency can cause lack of oxygen being distributed in the nails which results in slow growth and weakening of it. Taking daily vitamins C and B also helps the nails grow healthy. Check with your doctor about the levels of iron and other vitamins in your body. You just want to make sure you are getting enough daily intake.
Problem 3 - Moisturizing Nail Cream
To prevent breaking or drying of the nails, moisturizing does help the nails get hydrated. Try and include moisturizing in your daily morning or evening routines because if you don't the problems will snowball into something bigger, making it harder to fix your nail issues! Below are some of the creams I use to keep my hands and nails fresh and smelling good 🙂
- The Bee Naturals Cutide and Nail Oil - softens the cuticles and revitalizes nails. It is made with Tea Tree Oil formula which is the best remedy for strengthening the nails.
- Ancient Greek organic oil remedy - hydrates and smoothies the skin. Contains olive, lavender, almond and grape seed oil. Awesome product to try for nails.
Problem 4 - Applying Nail Strengthener
If I don't have time to do my nails at the nail salon, I have my little set up at home, full of different colors of polishes, cotton balls, strengtheners polish remover etc. I love to use O.P.I products because they fit my nails the best. However, before I put any color on my nails, I make sure i apply at least two coats of nail strengthen. I have notices that it helps the nail and the polish stay intact without breaking or chipping the polish.
